Fjord Rest sits on a rock ledge above deep water, the kind of place where the weather arrives visibly, half an hour before it reaches you.
There's no wifi and no television. Instead: a long table facing the fjord, a rowboat, and light that keeps going most of the night in summer.

The western fjords inland from Ålesund, roughly 90 minutes by car including one short ferry crossing.
The last few hundred metres drop steeply to the shelf; take it slowly and park above the house.
On arrival
Sit at the long table and do nothing for an hour. Standard practice.
Morning
Row along the shore while the water is still and black.
Midday
Walk up behind the house for the view back down the fjord.
Afternoon
Weather comes in. Watch it from inside with tea.
Evening
Stove lit, light lasting far too long, sleep whenever.
