Savonlinna, 1 hour
Gravel track through birch forest; 2WD fine in summer
A true off-grid disconnect
A place that asks nothing from you.
Still Water runs on solar and firewood. Light comes from lamps and long summer evenings; heat comes from the stove and the smoke sauna at the water's edge.
Swim, sauna, swim again, eat late. There is no road noise, no neighbour, and no reason to look at a clock.
- An off-grid timber cabin for two, running on solar power and firewood, with a composting toilet and lake-fed washing.
- A traditional smoke sauna sits at the water's edge with a ladder into the lake.
- No mains electricity, no wifi, no neighbours in sight — lamps, candles and long northern evenings instead.
- Rowing boat, fishing gear and a supply of split birch included.
